Programs - Sports

PSTC offers a variety of fun, inclusive and effective training sessions in swim, bike and run. Workouts run throughout the year, providing a motivating training environment for all race goals or fitness interests. Members are encouraged to come out for everything, or just the sessions that are of most value to them.

SWIM

  • We offer coached workouts in the fall, winter and spring seasons, at the UBC 50m indoor pool on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
  • From June through August, we swim with the Vancouver Open Water Swim Association at Kits Beach. PSTC members may join VOWSA Practice Swims on Monday and Thursday evenings.
  • We also offer intensive stroke improvement clinics subject to demand.

Coached Swim - Monday Nights

  • UBC Indoor Pool - 50m configuration
  • 11 swims with Coach Les from September 9th to December 2nd excluding October 14th and Nov 11th

 

OPTION 2
Coached Swim - Wednesday Nights 
Fall 2019

  • $132
  • Wednesday Nights - 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • UBC Indoor Pool - 50m configuration
  • 12 swims with Coach Liz from September 18th to December 4th

 

 

BIKE

  • Through the fall, winter and early spring, we offer coached Spin Classes on Thursday evenings.
  • Saturday morning group long rides run from March though June. Groups vary by pace and distance, so riders can select the ride that best suites their needs.

Spin Class - Thursday Nights 
Winter 2020

  • Thursday Nights - 7:00 to 8:00 pm
  • $100 for 9 sessions at Ron Zalko Fitness
  • October 10th to December 12th (excluding November 7th when the gym will be closed for the long weekend)

Group Rides - Thursday Evenings
Spring 2020

  • Thursday Evenings - 6:00 p.m.
  • Meeting point: Spanish Banks Parking Lot
  • Starting mid-May to mid-June
  • Free
  • Mix of technical abilities and speed work workouts
  • Front and back fenders (with long mud guard flaps) are mandatory 
  • Must be a registered member of TriBC and Pacific Spirit Tri Club

Group Rides - Saturday Mornings 
Spring 2020

  • Saturday Mornings - 8:00 a.m.
  • Meeting point: Boathouse Restaurant, Kits Beach
  • Starting TBC
  • Free
  • Front and back fenders (with long mud guard flaps) are mandatory 
  • Must be a registered member of TriBC and Pacific Spirit Tri Club

RUN

  • We offer free coached track sessions every Tuesday evening at the Point Grey Secondary School track in Kerrisdale.
  • For those who enjoy a good excuse to eat, we organize trail runs, followed by brunch periodically throughout the year.
  • PSTC members also have access to Forerunner's Wednesday night run clinic, free of charge.
  • Participation in the Whistler 50 race as a team relay
